Licence
Vedic Time is licensed, not sold, for personal use on Apple devices you own or control. Your use is also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement , which applies to every app distributed through the App Store. Where these terms and Apple's disagree, Apple's govern.
Vedic Time Plus
Most of Vedic Time is free and stays that way: today's readings, where you are, and the whole of the Learn library. Vedic Time Plus adds any other date, any other place, the readings that draw on your birth details, and the rest of the watch complications.
Plus is sold as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription, or as a one-time purchase that does not renew. The current prices are shown in the app before you buy, in your own currency.
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours beforehand. Your Apple Account is charged when the renewal is confirmed. The yearly plan may include a free trial for customers who have not had one before; if you do not cancel before the trial ends, it becomes a paid subscription. Any unused part of a trial is forfeited if you buy a subscription during it.
Manage or cancel in your Apple Account settings, not here — we cannot cancel a subscription for you, and deleting the app does not cancel one. Monthly and yearly are the same plan at the same level, so switching between them takes effect at your next renewal with nothing extra to pay. The one-time purchase is separate from the subscription and buying it does not cancel one; if you hold both, cancel the subscription yourself.
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. Refunds are Apple's to give — request one through reportaproblem.apple.com. Restoring a previous purchase on a new device is a button in the app, on the offer screen and in Settings.
What the app is, and is not
Vedic Time computes traditional Vedic timings and presents them as guidance and as cultural knowledge, naming the classical sources behind the rules where they exist. It is provided as is, without warranties of any kind.
It is not medical, legal, financial or professional advice, and should not be relied on as such. Decisions you make after reading it are your own.
About the calculations
The astronomy is computed to good accuracy but may differ from other panchangas, because panchangas differ: in ayanamsa, in where the day begins, and in which ephemeris they use. The app's ephemeris is built in so that it works offline, and that trades a little precision for independence. Where we know the size of a difference, we say so on the support page rather than leave you to discover it.
Acceptable use
Do not reverse-engineer, redistribute or resell the app, or use it in a way that breaks the law where you are.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the app, or from any inaccuracy in what it computes.
Changes
These terms may change as the app changes. The date at the top moves when they do.
